2007

Nevada Community Enrichment Program (NCEP) – Three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Casa Norte - Three-year accreditation from CARF as a long-term neurobehavioral residential setting.

Debbie Moline, ASI’s Southwest Regional Property Manager, was nominated for a HUD Best Practices Award for her disaster preparedness plan and her safe and successful response to the need to evacuate one of the buildings that she manages.

The Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers (HAND) named Coppermine Place I the 2007 Best Project in Northern Virginia. Wesley Housing Development Corporation worked with ASI to co-sponsor the project.

The Portage Apartments for Seniors received a Certificate of Designation as a Neighborhood Networks Center. The computer center is part of a nationwide initiative to put computer technology in the hands of people who have not previously had access to the resources available on the Internet.

2006

Robert (Bob) Horan, President of Accessible Housing Corporation of South Hampton Roads (AHC) was named one of the Architects of Change: Presenting 25 housing in leaders in Virginia.

2005

The Virginia Beach Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities honored Robert (Bob) Horan, President of Accessible Housing Corporation of South Hampton Roads (AHC) for his vision and steadfast commitment to making it possible for people with disabilities to live independently in the community. Bob worked with ASI as a co-sponsor on the development of two accessible, affordable apartment buildings in Virginia (The Anchorage, in Norfolk, opened in 1998 and The Sanderling, in Chesapeake, opened in 2005). Bob has also been involved with ASI and local organizations for developments in Northern Virginia, Richmond and the Eastern Shore.
