Who is Michael Pesch?
In 1975, Mike Pesch broke his neck in a drought-shallow lake in northern Minnesota and, as a result, was paralyzed for the rest of his life. Following a time at Courage Center, Mike was ready to move on, but his living options were limited to a nursing home or home with his parents. As a young man ready to live independently, the options were too limited, so with the support of his friends, Steve Wiggins, Charles Berg and Steven Vander Schaaf, Mike became a force behind affordable and accessible housing for people with mobility impairments. It is Mike Pesch, whose desire for independence and dignity, who inspired the development of Accessible Space, Inc. It is his spirit, dedication, and desire for an accessible life that best represents the values of Accessible Space, Inc. and our donors.
