Special Characteristics and advantages of NCEP to be considered include the following:
- Part of Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI), a well-established, nationally recognized nonprofit organization.
- A stable provider, providing comprehensive rehabilitation, not piecemeal contract therapy services.
- Has no marketing staff; our major investment is in maintaining quality treatment staff.
- All pre-admission assessments are performed by our Admissions Coordinator or designated member of the treatment team.
- Staffed in all major disciplines, plus many innovative specialties that enhance a community-based, community integrated program.
- Evaluation and treatment planning process is functional, client centered, outcome oriented and aimed at maximizing all available resources
- Discharges 87% of the clients who complete our program to home either independently or with family support (2011 outcomes data).
- A post acute program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for Brain Injury Programs: Vocational Programs, Out-patient Rehabilitation and Residential Rehabilitation Programs.
- Administration and clinical staff maintain a high level of expertise and experience in brain injury and neurological rehabilitation.
- Well established, works closely with, and partners with other community agencies.
- Enhances, enriches and supplements existing community services - and also lessens the cost of care by avoiding unnecessary duplication of services.
- Residential treatment program provides a functional, realistic learning environment for outcome oriented independent living skills training.
- Assists individuals in developing greater self-reliance.
- Every participant is an active consumer of services rather than a passive recipient of treatment.
- Provides excellent staffing ratios based on overall census and client acuity (no more than five in the residence, and no more than 26 combined day and residential clients).
